The internationally renowned artist, sculptor, and poet, Noah Purifoy moved to Joshua tree in 1988 from Los Angeles. His home, located on dirt roads, is surrounded by his assemblage art sculptures. Created from what most of us see as trash is a fantasy rising like a mirage in the desert.

More than 100 assemblages, installations, and sculptures on the desert floor, surround his studio. Here are dilapidated pieces of junk put together in a manner that not only accentuates consumer waste and dereliction, but also lets us enter the mind of the artist. Purifoy constructed works with his unique socially conscious views that taunt and tease the viewer.

Current efforts are underway to develop the site as a permanent cultural center and public art park through the formation of the Noah Purifoy Foundation.
