Windwalkers December 2006, Pottery, Rugs - Opened in Aug 2006, New owners are Abe and BJ. Located just east of Crossroads, they have expanded and have plans to showcase local artists.

Empty Homes - Foreclosures - Auctions are everywhere!! Too many new homes going up in the Hi Desert!! Land and home prices went way up! Now prices have not only gone down but nothing is selling.

The Mojave Desert Land Trust is working to purchase Nolina Peak, 639 acres, and donate this land to JTNP. Read the Sunrunner for detailed articles, Dec/Jan issue, on environmental issues concerning this area.
Visit Desert Parks Partners, a new coalition of Volunteer Committees.
Rep. Mary Bono announced (HR6270) the California Desert and Mountain Heritage Act. This proposed legislation would designate approx. 129,000 acres as 'wilderness'.
